Public secondary schools resumed all over Nigeria in September, but Nigeria is still battling with the Covid-19 epidemic. To our surprise, we found no preventive measures/provisions when we went on our routine school visits. Instead of complaining, we decided to take a bold step and we kick started two drives. The first is the mask-up drive which aims to provide as many reusable masks as possible while the second called the clean hands drive delivers hand washing units to secondary schools in Nigeria. In addition to this, we educate teachers and students on measures to stay safe during the pandemic.
Impact in Numbers:
Phase 1:
- At least 1000 masks
- 7 hand washing units
- 1200 lives protected
Phase 2:
- 20-22 hand washing units
- At lease 5650 lives protected
